Clay Spiegel What does the remainder of the season look like?

Im glad you asked, I was just thinking about that.

Worst division is right, which probably means 8 or 9 wins will take it. Oakland has played crappy teams, but they probably are the biggest competition at this point. It will be interesting to see what KC does the rest of the way. You would think they would be pretty solid with a better than decent defense, a great running back, a very good young wideout a great tight end and a young qb with potential. If Croyle can be decent, KC could w… Continue

Clay Spiegel Nothing like a little Rocky Mountain Air

Alright, that is much better. Who would have thought it would only take one win and not only would things look and feel much better, but we are only .5 games out of first. I would also bet that no one thought the Raiders would be in first right now. Well, all it should take is another ass whooping of the Raiders in our own confines and we should be back where we belong.

For those of you who don't listen to 1090 every morning at 6:30, I just learned that Vincent "Bo" Jackson ran a 40 tim… Continue

Clay Spiegel It's Officially Rock Bottom

The Chargers are now 1-3 after losing their third straight game. I personally wasn't too worried about these guys because they lost two games on the road in tough places against one very good team, and one team that is tough to beat at home (and 4-0 by the way). Then the Chargers took their first strong start and shit in their own bed. They took a big stinky shit and then rolled around it in all night. After a 16-6 halftime lead, they gave up 24 straight points to one of the five worst teams in… Continue

Clay Spiegel 2 Days after the massacre and I am still alive

I dont know about the rest of you, but Sunday night turned into one of the most frustrating games I can remember. It is easy to forget that five years ago the Padres were the worst team in the MLB and the Chargers were the worst team in the NFL. They each had the number one pick in their respective drafts in 2004, and here we are five years later expecting nothing less than a championship. I have the same expectations as the rest of you, but it is important to remember the other side of the game… Continue

Clay Spiegel Parker is out for possibly Ten weeks?!

"Chargers receiver/punt returner Eric Parker will be sidelined up to ten weeks after undergoing surgery on his toe Friday.

Parker had missed all of training camp to this point with a cracked "sesamoid" bone in his right big toe. He could be back somewhere between Weeks 4 and 6. First-round pick Craig Davis is likely to start in Parker's place."

Clay Spiegel It's Official - Football season is back in swing

It is hard to really get much out of preseason games, and even harder to watch sometimes, but a first look at the new crop of talent helps. I was excited to see what Craig Davis, Eric Weddle and Paul Oliver looked like. At training camp on Friday, I had a chance to take a look at these guys, but what I left excited about was Darren Sproles. The run their kickoff plays and don't tackle, so you can't take much from it, but this guy can move. We all saw him two years ago in his rookie season, but I… Continue

Clay Spiegel Calvin Johnson

As reported by ESPN, the Detroit Lions signed Calvin Johnson to a 6 year $67 Million deal, with $27 Million guaranteed. Are you serious? Last I checked, LT was the highest paid running back in the NFL, with a 6 year $60 Million contract and $21 million guaranteed. Is Calvin Johnson more valuable to a team than LT. If you are a Lions fan, how do you feel about this? Not only did your team draft a receiver for the fourth time in five years, but he was just given more money than any non-quarterback… Continue
